But it was an Olympic distance triathlon (1500 M swim, 40 K bike, 10 K run), the USA Triathlon National Age Group Championships that I qualified for by being the only person in my age group at the Santa Rosa NM triathlon in June. Based on my Cleveland performance, I’m now qualified for the ITU World Age Group Championships in Switzerland in 2019. They qualify 18 from each age group from the national championships, and there were only 12 women in my age group in Cleveland. Age has its benefits.
