SOB Info Notes, May 10, 2016

The Ride Leader Training class is scheduled for Monday, May 23 (1:00 – 5:00 pm) at the Santa Fe Southside Library, 6599 Jaguar Dr. The requirements to be a Ride Leader are:

  1. Be a current member of the Santa Fe Seniors On Bikes cycling club
  2. Ride with the club a minimum of three rides
  3. Satisfactorily complete the Ride Leader Training class
  4. Serve as the HERO on three rides
  5. Lead six rides during the regular riding season

The presenters are: Judy Costlow – Ride Director, Edwin Crossswhite – Group Management, Mark Warchol – First Aid, and Lynn Pickard – NM Legal Issues.

If you attend this free course you will receive a First Aid kit that will fit easily in your jersey pocket and a certificate of completion. Current Ride Leaders are encouraged to attend as well as anyone just wanting to increase their knowledge. A sign-up sheet will be available at the sign-in table at Thursdays Ride.

The Santa Fe Century is May 22. The SOBs will have booth at the registration area on Saturday, May 21 along with the “Ride for a Reason” groups. Be sure to stop by and say hi.

The membership drive is over but you can still join for a week or so if you want to be listed in the club roster. Currently we have 153 members. Just a side note, there were 178 riders at the Eldorado starting point last week.
