Smart Cycling Traffic Skills 201

A League of American Bicyclists Course

Traffic Skills 201 is designed for the intermediate to advanced cyclist. The 12 hours of instructions  are based on the material contained in the text, Smart Cycling: Traffic Skills 201. The course is divided into these two days:

Day 1:  deals with mechanical issues, i.e. all things pertaining to the brakes, derailleur, chain, bearings and wheels. The class will be using the repair stands at the bike shop so you may be dealing with a little grease.

Day 2: increasing efficiency, using the gears, training for endurance, what to eat, general cycling fitness issues, the cycling environment, crash prevention, avoidance and injury reduction.

This course is available to current members of the Santa Fe Seniors On Bikes cycling club at no cost. Anyone attending the two classes and passes the 25 question written exam will receive a certificate.

There are no prerequisites for this class.
