The End of the Season Award Luncheon this year will be on October 20th, 1:00 at Pecos Trail Cafe on 2239 Old Pecos Hwy. The cost is $15.00 (tax and tip included). Lore will start collecting this week at the regular rides.
The official SOB club photo will be retaken on October 20 at the Museum Hill parking area before the start of the ride at 10:00 am.

This years annual SOB special event was a great success! All fourteen riders (7 men and 7 women) completed the 5 day ride and returned home safely. Riders started at the Glorieta off-ramp and rode to Las Vegas on day one. Good weather until the end but most got in before the rain started. A good dinner at El Fidels completed the evening. On day 2 there was an eight mile climb ending in Sipapu. Dinner was much simpler since the ski resort restaurant only served a hot dog/hamburger type menu. For breakfast we met in one of the cabins and fixed scrambled eggs with toast. Day 3 was a short ride (21 miles) to Taos. The Sagebrush Inn had nice room and a very good dinner waiting for us. The ride to Ojo Caliente crossed the Rio Grande Gorge and continued thru Carson. We were joined by a couple of SOBs that lived in the area and they rode with us for several miles. The accommodation varied in Ojo from the quite nice rooms at the resort to the more funkie ones across the road. The dinner and beer on the lighted patio at the Taos Trail Inn was good but the jazz trio that played after that made the evening an exceptional experience. The last day was quite windy (35 mph) and ended with lunch at Gabriel.
A special get together is planned for Jim and Jennifer Kinney who will be leaving Santa Fe. Details coming.
The League of American Bicyclists (LAB) Smart Cycling course Traffic Skills 101 class is scheduled for September 24 – 25. The class is limited to 12 people and you must pre-register with Gary Schiffmiller at: schiffmiller@earthlink.net.
