There is a special ride on August 3 that I am calling the Bernalillo Metric Century. To do this ride you will need to carpool from the South Capital Rail Runner station at 7:30 am (where you will leave you car). The ride starts at 9:00 am (Cerro Grande parking area off Rt 4). From there you ride to Bernalillo and train back to the South Capital Rail Runner Station. Be sure to make your carpool arrangements prior to meeting at the station.
This is one of the easiest metric centuries you will ever do as well as being very scenic. In past years some riders have chosen to do a side trip to the Ponderosa Winery and still made it to the Bernalillo Rail Runner station in plenty of time to make the 4:11 pm train. The train ride back to Santa Fe arrives at 6:00 pm so you need to plan this a day trip. You can pre-purchase tickets on line, $4.00 for seniors or when you board the train for $5.00.
I call this an easy 66 mile ride but it is 66 miles so you do have to be in good enough shape to ride that distance.
