At the ride leaders meeting on February 18, it was suggested that all ride leaders re-read the ride leaders manual posted on the SOB website as a review. Please pay particular attention to the portions of the manual that address first aid and the pre-ride announcement checklist. Of course, not each item on the checklist needs to be addressed at every ride, but at a minimum ride leaders should welcome new riders, make any necessary announcements about road conditions, and select a few others.
Your club will try to put together another formal ride leaders training when Covid protocols, site availability, and safety allow this. In the meantime, please try to recruit new ride leaders. They can take an abbreviated course put together during the pandemic and get certified that way. Send a message on the website if you are interested.
