Ride start time 9:30am. This is a beautiful ride down the Turquoise Trail to Albuquerque and return via the Rail Runner train. It will be a long day, 8 hrs with 70 miles and 3,300 feet of climbing. To make the train riders should be comfortable with riding in a pace line at 17mph on the flats. Climbs (3,300ft) will be much slower than that and I’m hoping for 14-15mph average speed with brief stops every 15 miles or so. We will have 7 hours to make it to the train in Abq which leaves time for a meal (Slice Pizza) before catching the train if all goes well on the ride.  Abq train time is 4:41 with backup train at 5:49, arrival back in Santa Fe at 5:43/6:57. I will ask the group to stay together for the ride in pace line fashion, and no one will be left behind for any reason including mechanical problems or flats. It should be a beautiful day, nice and cool with light winds.
Route I have planned is slightly different than the one posted on the website if things go well, but I think you’ll like the changes.
